“Every member of the state ought diligently to READ and to STUDY the Constitution of his country, and to TEACH the rising generation to be free. By knowing your rights, they will sooner perceive when they are violated and be the better prepared to DEFEND and ASSERT them.” — John Jay
Back in 2007 – 2008 when I started my journey, I never in my life would’ve guessed how woefully ignorant I was of what it meant to live as a free citizen in a Republic. The history of this country is rich in patriots and heroes that tried to leave us clues on what we needed to do in order to pass Liberty on to following generations in the same manner it was handed off to us.
I have not come across any of them that summarizes any better a guiding principle than that of John Jay. It provides an excellent roadmap and provides the framework for this organization. What struck me the most when I read this was the part about being ‘taught to be Free.’ I had never thought about that nor encountered the idea that anyone needed to be taught to be free. Over the course of years and after countless hours of reading and research, I have concluded this is precisely what ailes our Republic….we were not taught the responsibilities that come with being a truly free society. With that in mind the above quote serves to provide the mission of our organization.
Yours in Liberty,
